The institute

Built for people who work.

Northgate was founded in 2009 by a group of practitioners who were tired of interviewing graduates who could describe a database but had never restored one.

What we are

An independent professional institute in central Thessaloniki. We teach four disciplines — computing, business operations, design and energy — at the point where a person has to do the work rather than talk about it.

What we are not

We do not award degrees. We are not a university, and we do not claim accreditation we do not have. What we issue is a certificate of completion that states exactly what was assessed, and the work that was produced to pass it.

Governance

The institute is led by a director of studies and a programme board that includes two external practitioners. Programme content is reviewed annually against what employers in the region actually ask for, and every programme has an external reviewer on its final assessment.

Quality

Graduates are surveyed at six and eighteen months. Teaching is observed each term. Where a module does not produce the outcome it promised, it is rewritten or removed.
